Job title: Operations Manager

Salary:

The start-up: They create stunning and original fabrics from their Wiltshire factory, using a combination of natural dyes, traditional fabrics and cutting-edge printing technology.

What you'll be doing:

  • Supply Chain Management;
    • Managing the relationship with our suppliers, ensuring all incoming goods meet stringent quality control specifications.
    • Ordering and Stock control of all production raw materials.
  • Process Management;
    • Understanding, analysing and developing each process within our manufacturing operation to ensure best practice, development of techniques and waste reduction both in raw materials and time.
    • Ensuring Key Performance Indicators are in place and production targets are met.
  • Training and development of the production team;
    • Recognising existing skills and ensuring these are harnessed and shared with all.
    • Recognising skills gaps and seeking external training where necessary for development of self and production team.
  • Site Management of three buildings in Marlborough, the security, upkeep and development of all. Ensuring good care of plant and machinery, managing service schedules and contracts. Assistance with site management at our London Showroom for building maintenance and development.
  • Managing budget for Capital Expenditure and running costs of our production operation.
  • Health and Safety for the site and team in Marlborough and London, ensuring best practice, training and risk assessments are prepared, regularly updated and communicated with all.
  • Liaison with the Board of Directors on developments, requirements and issues with the production operation.

Reporting to the Board, in a newly created role, the Operations Manager will be responsible for all elements of the supply chain of raw materials, the manufacturing process of their range of fabrics and accessories, and the timely despatch of goods, whilst overseeing the Marlborough manufacturing site as a whole.

  • Presentation, the ability to clearly communicate with our team, our suppliers and the Directors showing clarity of thought, of ideas and plans for future development.
